V1 Interactiven vuonna 2020 julkaistava Disintegration julkistettiin Gamescomissa. Gamereactor pääsi haastattelemaan studiopomoa, eli siis kotimaista Marcus Lehtoa siitä, mitä tulossa on.
Disintegrationin ideana on yhdistää strateginen käskyttäminen ensimäisen persoonan pyssyttelyyn.
”Your initial role is to command those units around on the ground. We came up with a mechanic for doing that, and it’s almost like firing a weapon down on the ground. So you fire command pulses down, and they move smartly and intelligently throughout the environment, issuing their commands to them, and then each one of them has a unique ability which you can fire off to use kind of like a chess piece in the middle of gameplay, for tactical usage.”
”So it’s really important for the player to understand what [they have] in [their] toolbelt in order to take advantage of combat.”
”As well as that, you’re armed with first-person weapons and abilities on board to engage in combat on the ground to help your units, but also you’re susceptible to all of that ground combat firing back up at you as well. So you really have to be careful about your positioning and the unit positioning and how you are as an entity, a crew, working together.”
